• Remote location – look for a hardware store nearby:

If you’re locked out and lost your key when you’re in a remote location that a locksmith might take a few hours to get to- you’ll need to dismantle your lock from the door its attached to; the first thing you’ll need is a screwdriver- look for a way to dismantle your door knob and when it’s out- you’ll see your lock inside the internal mechanism, gently loosen whatever it is attaching it and take your lock to the nearest hardware store. Please be aware this is a temporary solution as the keys made there are very cheap (sometimes even made in an automated machines- that is, when you have to original and want to make a spare) and not reliable… it would be wise to take that key to a proper locksmith company and make a solid key ASAP.
